Strap Guide: Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight BB58 Blue

Strap Guide: Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight BB58 Blue

Strap Guide written by @wh1chw4tch. Thank you Michael!

Introduction

The Tudor Black Bay 58 is widely known among watch nerds as a total “strap monster”. However the Blue version? Not so much. Well folks, I’m here to dispel that myth and prove unequivocally that the BB58 Blue can handle any leather strap you throw at it, and looks darn good in the process! Now full disclosure, some of my photography is a little unorthodox for a Strap Guide. But I hope these shots showcase how different straps can compliment the beautiful blue dial of the Tudor, and inspire you to FINALLY TAKE OFF THAT BRACELET!

Army Green Saffiano Stitchless

Who doesn’t love Saffiano leather? The texture adds a nice little element to your look, and it feels classic, yet modern on the wrist. For this combo I’ve chosen to pop the blue dial with this fantastic army green color! Will this pairing get you noticed at a dinner party? Perhaps. Will a stranger stop you in the street and tell you how awesome you are? Most likely.

Dark Brown Pueblo Slim

I could give you all the cool details about Pueblo leather, and how it will patina nicely and comes from an awesome Italian tannery. But you probably already know that. Instead I would just ask that you admire how PERFECT this pairing is! The stitching reads slightly orange as well, which is a nice compliment to the blue. Highly recommend a nice brown leather strap with the BB.

Tinware Grey Epsom Slim

If you’re like me, a huge portion of your wardrobe is blue and grey clothing. Those colors are classic and go with everything. Well, no surprise that the Tinware Grey Epsom strap pairs brilliantly with the Black Bay. The Epsom straps are so comfortable and durable against water and weather. Makes sense to pair with a dive watch, don’t you think?

Black Crazy Horse Side-Stitch

This pairing might not seem as obvious to you, and you might be saying to yourself “You can’t put black and blue together.” Well, you are utterly and completely WRONG! You can and you should, as evidenced by how cool this combo looks. Whether you own a BB58 or not, I can’t say enough good things about this Crazy Horse strap. It makes every watch look a little more “rock and roll”.

Navy Minerva Box Signature

Ok, I saved the best for last. The BB58 Blue and the Navy Minerva Box Signature strap seem like they were MADE FOR EACH OTHER. The pebbled texture of the leather, the saturated blue tones, AND the depth and character of this strap all make you look down at your wrist and let out an audible “gasp”! Just beware of sporting this combo while driving, as you might have trouble keeping your eyes on the road!
